A new proposal would give states power over non-U.S. citizen work visas.
The bill was unveiled by Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Representative Ken Buck of Colorado on Wednesday.
Johnson says the current one-size-fits-all model out of Washington D.C. doesn’t account for how the unique economies of each state.
Johnson says they would offer 3-year temporary work visas that could be renewed, and states that don’t want guest workers wouldn’t have to take any.
