Attorneys for a paper mill in Combined Locks are taking a formal step with the state, in case they can’t find a buyer.
Appleton Coated notified the state Department of Workforce Development that 620 people could be laid off, if the mill closes. The company also says some workers might lose their job, under a new owner.
Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson says they’ll do what they can to help the company’s leadership team. He hopes they’ll find a positive resolution.
Appleton Coated announced last week that it will try to sell the mill…through the receivership process.
