An Outagamie County judge is delaying a hearing on the future of the Appleton Coated paper mill until Monday.
About 600 workers still remain laid off.
Judge Greg Gill said this afternoon that he needs time to review the purchase agreement.
The owner of the mill in Combined Locks fell into receivership, and a company named Industrial Assets was the highest bidder at an auction. Industrial Assets doesn’t plan to run the mill.
Gill will decide whether to finalize the sale. Some are asking to give potential buyers more time to crunch the numbers, and then hold a second auction.
Workers rallied outside the Justice Center in downtown Appleton before the hearing.
