Two organizations in Oshkosh are supporting the sale of the city’s golf course to the Oshkosh Corporation.
The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce and Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Corporation released a joint statement today. The company is looking to buy at least part of the Lakeshore Municipal Golf Course.
John Casper is the CEO of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce. He says it looks like the sale is a real possibility. He says they support efforts to grow and secure Oshkosh Corporation’s future in the city.
Casper says a Fortune 500 company like Oshkosh Corporation needs a campus that reflects its image.
He says the company would use about 30 of Lakeshore’s 109 acres.
He says the rest could be used by the community for recreation.
