People got a chance to check out different chicken coops around Appleton yesterday during Appleton’s first Coop Tour.
City Peeps hosted the event. The group lobbied to let people raise chickens in the city, in May of this year.
Co-founder Shannon Kenevan says they showed people different styles of coops and answered questions for anyone looking to get into the hobby.
He says 10 homeowners have chickens right now. He says hopefully in a few years, there will be 20 or 25.
The tours were held at five homes in Appleton.
Kenevan says going forward they plan to host “Chicken 101” classes every spring, and coop tours each fall.
