A developer wants to turn a former Catholic elementary school in Kaukauna into apartments.
St. Aloysius school is on the south side, and the project isn’t sitting well with a number of neighbors.
Mayor Gene Rosin says the school would be remodeled to make room for 20 apartments. He says the plans also call for one or two new 10-unit buildings on the school site. He says after hearing from neighbors, the plan commission wants a more in-depth study of the proposal.
Rosin says there are a lot of single-family homes around the school.
