A state senator from Ashland is worried about a UW System proposal to merge two-year campuses with four-year schools.
Democratic Senator Janet Bewley says the plan would have UW Barron join UW Eau Claire. Bewley says there’s a trend of Madison taking resources away from other parts of the state. She says the move is taking decision-making ability away from northern schools.
Bewley says two-year campuses should have more of a say in which four-year school they join.
She says she wants regents to consider other options, like letting UW Barron merge with UW Superior instead.
