A study will track about 700 fish around the bay of Green Bay.
Tom Meronek is with the DNR fisheries management. He says they will catch walleyes and lake whitefish and then implant transmitters into them.
He says they have receivers around the bay to track them. He says they want to understand how the fish are interacting and moving.
Meronek says the study will help them better manage the fish population.
He says the study will take four years, and they will also track a smaller group of fish in Lake Michigan.
