A political science professor says an election for a seat in Congress in eastern Wisconsin next year may be influenced by national trends.
UW-Oshkosh professor Jim Simmons says the race between Republican Congressman Glenn Grothman and Democrat Dan Kohl, in the sixth district, could be closer than some anticipated.
Simmons says the last time a Democrat won an election in the sixth district was in 1964. He stresses that even though Democrats are polling better around the country recently, a lot can change before November of next year.
