A 21-year-old Oshkosh man will spend seven years on probation after his infant daughter had numerous broken bones.
Richard Root was sentenced in Winnebago County court this morning. He entered a no contest plea to a charge of child neglect in August.
Police say Root brought his daughter to a hospital in March when she was two months old. They say she had at least 20 broken bones, and some were already healing.
They say she also had multiple brain bleeds and head bruises.
Judge Thomas Gritton ordered Root to spend six months in jail. He could be sentenced to prison if he violates his probation.
