Students in the Seymour school district got a visit from some Green Bay Packers players for their work in an NFL program.
The “Fuel Up to Play 60” initiative encourages kids to eat well and exercise.
School nurse Amber Thompson says the players talked about nutrition and fitness, answered questions, and played at activity stations.
She says they’ve participated for several years, and the students are leaders in healthy living in their schools. She says they organize events all year long.
Thompson says they host events like family fitness nights, sponsor color runs, and put together scavenger hunts.
The four schools in the program also received grants from the NFL. They’ll use the money to improve their health and wellness programs and upgrade equipment.
