Tonight is the annual Geminid meteor shower.
Barlow Planetarium Director Alan Peche says every year at this time the earth passes through the debris field of an asteroid, and he says it looks like a snowstorm.
Peche says is should be relatively clear tonight and if it is he advises going out after midnight and looking at the southeastern sky.
He says meteor showers usually last for days and may still be visible Thursday night or Friday morning.
