The plans for a regional indoor sports facility and two hotels in Grand Chute could spark more development in one area of the town.
The projects are planned along Greenville Drive west of Casaloma Drive.
Bob Buckingham is the community development director. He says the area is well-positioned for commercial growth.
The Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau is building the $25 million facility on the north side of Greenville Drive using room tax dollars. Developers hope to break ground on a 125-room Holiday Inn across the street next year. Both projects are expected to be done in 2019.
There are also plans for an 80-room Holiday Inn Express next door with construction starting in 2020.
