More than two years ago, Lutheran Social Services announced they would close the Thompson Community Center in downtown Appleton. Without missing a beat, Ray Zuelke and others took action to replace this essential resource.
St. Bernadette’s Parish in Appleton welcomed many of the offices and events that were housed in the former senior center into what is now the Thompson Center on Lourdes. Card games, dances, music lessons, pickle ball, and many other activities happen every day, many for low or no cost.
