Two judges will face off in April to be the next justice on the state Supreme Court.
Sauk County Judge Michael Screnock and Milwaukee County Judge Rebecca Dallet advanced in the primary. Madison Attorney Tim Burns finished third.
Screnock was appointed by Governor Walker, and he previously worked as an attorney defending the governor’s collective bargaining law.
Dallet was elected as a judge in 2008. She tried to attract Democratic voters in the primary, running an ad critical of President Trump.
The winner will replace Justice Michael Gableman. He didn’t seek a second, 10-year term.
Conservatives have a 5-2 advantage on the high court.
