A Seymour man will spend two years in prison for a deadly crash.
Thirteen-year-old Braxton Kasee was killed on Halloween of 2016 in a crash in the town of Oneida. Prosecutors say 19-year-old Blake Doxtator was speeding when his minivan went into a ditch on Bain Road.
Kasee was a student at Seymour Middle School, and he died at a Green Bay hospital.
Doxtator reached a deal with prosecutors, pleading no contest last December to charges of homicide by negligent driving and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Prosecutors say Doxtator was bringing a group of teens home from trick-or-treating. They say one of the boys posted on Snapchat, showing they were going 97 miles an hour.
They say Doxtator claimed he wasn’t speeding, and a deer jumped out in front of him. Outagamie County Judge John Des Jardins also ordered Doxtator to serve five years on probation, after he gets out of prison.
