The owner of a local gun store says Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to stop selling AR-style weapons won’t impact what he does.
Jon Gafner of Jon’s Sports Shop in Oshkosh says the businesses are different. He says customers at Dick’s are joggers, golfers and tennis players not target shooters and hunters.
Dick’s will also no longer sell firearms to anyone under 21. The decision by management at Dick’s comes after more than a dozen businesses cut ties with the National Rifle Association.
Walmart announced yesterday it will also stop selling guns to anyone under 21. In 2015 the company stopped selling high powered rifles including AR-15 type weapons.
