Neenah police officers told jurors Tuesday about how they went into a bike shop to try to rescue hostages during a standoff.
48-year-old Brian Flatoff is on trial on more than a dozen felony charges. Prosecutors say he went to Eagle Nation Cycles in December of 2015 because of a dispute over a motorcycle.
Officer Jonathan Kuffel says when they went inside “all hell broke loose” and they were being shot at. He says he feared for his life and the lives of the rest of the officers.
They retreated and two officers shot and killed hostage Michael Funk. Funk ran out of the building and he had a gun.
Flatoff is representing himself.
