The struggles families face are complex, but some share common roots. Poverty makes so many other things harder — getting and keeping a job, providing opportunity for children — and the incidence of childhood poverty is on the rise in Wisconsin.
An interfaith coalition has come together behind the Campaign to End Child Poverty in Wisconsin. Rather than putting forth a detailed policy solution, they want to rally a broad cross-section of Wisconsinites to the goal first. After this acceptance of the importance of the problem, they hope for an open discussion of how to address the issue.
