Governor Walker was in Green Bay yesterday afternoon to sign two bills to fight opioid abuse.
They’re part of the HOPE Agenda. One of them creates a drug trafficking response grant program. The other makes sure doctors are continuously trained on best practices when they prescribe opioids to patients.
Republican Representative John Nygren of Marinette was also at the signing at Bellin Hospital. He says the bills also provide more tools to schools to educate kids about the harmful substances.
They’re the 29th and 30th proposals to become law under the HOPE Agenda.
