A woman will spend 3-1/2 years on probation, in connection with a shooting in a downtown Appleton bar.
Twenty-nine-year-old Dree Sullivan was convicted of aiding a felon, after prosecutors say she hid the gun her boyfriend used at Jack’s Apple Pub last May. They say after 33-year-old Henry Nellum of Milwaukee fired a shot at a man during a fight, Sullivan put the gun under her truck outside.
If Sullivan violates her probation, she could go to prison for 2-1/2 years. Nellum is facing several charges, including felony murder, after a bystander was killed.
Investigators say Appleton Police Lt. Jay Steinke ran into the bar, and started shooting at Nellum. They say he hit 33-year-old Jimmy Sanders of Milwaukee, while he was being pushed by people who were trying to get out of the bar.
Steinke was cleared of any criminal charges.
Nellum could stand trial in August.
