Whether you will admit it or not, we all suffer from implicit bias. We judge people on the basis of who they are or what they look like, and these judgments are rooted deep within our brains. The effects of this bias can be hidden, but they jumped into stark relief recently when two black men were arrested for allegedly loitering at a Starbucks in Philadelphia. Turns out the men were there to meet a business colleague, and charges were quickly dropped. The fallout, however is far from over.
