A musical based on a hit movie from 2003 opens in downtown Appleton tonight.
“School of Rock” is at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
Spokeswoman Trisha Witt says it’s a high-energy show. She says it follows a substitute teacher who starts a rock band with his students.
Witt says all 16 kids in the show play their own instruments. The music comes from the film and it also features an original score by award-winning composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The musical was nominated for four Tony Awards.
“School of Rock” will be at the PAC for eight shows through Sunday. Tickets are available.
