There are Little Free Libraries in neighborhoods around the Appleton area, and the city’s downtown police station will now have one.
Appleton Officer Matthew Anderson worked with a national organization to put it in the lobby, where it’s available 24 hours a day.
Anderson visited Columbus Elementary School students this morning, to tell them about the new library, and read a short story. He says they’ll also have a mobile Little Free Library, to host reading events around the city.
Anderson says they hope the libraries will help break down the perceived barriers between police and the community.
