There are special prescription drug collection events around the Fox Cities and the state tomorrow, and some police departments want people to bring them in any time.
Oshkosh is one of several in the area that have 24-hour drop boxes.
Officer Kate Mann says since they got one, eight years ago, they’ve collected about 20,000 pounds. She says it helps prevent addiction, by keeping the drugs out of the wrong hands. She says properly disposing of pills also protects the environment.
The police stations in Appleton, Neenah, and Menasha also have 24-hour drop boxes at their stations.
Tomorrow is Drug Take Back Day, and communities are organizing a variety of events.
