The state’s attorney general was in Appleton this afternoon to talk about a growing number of cases of elder abuse.
Attorney General Brad Schimel was at the Thompson Center on Lourdes on the east side. He says one in ten seniors over 65 in Wisconsin say they’ve been a victim of abuse in the last twelve months. That includes financial, physical, or sexual abuse.
Schimel says experts believe the situation could be even worse than that. He says only one in 44 financial cases are reported.
