The summer reading program is underway at the Appleton Public Library.
Children’s Services Supervisor Ann Cooksey says people can participate at the library or online. She says they want to encourage reading, creating and exploring. She says if kids read five days a week, they’re eligible to pick up a prize. She says they keep track of the days they read in a log.
Cooksey says they also want to encourage people to get out into the community. She says people can get extra stamps if they go to places like the police department, fire department, and public works. She says there are also some extra challenges in the online version of the program.
Cooksey says they have programs for babies, kids, teens, and adults. There’s more information on the library’s website.
The program runs through August 12.
