A convicted sex offender is accused of making trips to the Fox Cities to sexually assault a young girl.
Prosecutors say 30-year-old Cort Davis of West Virginia met the girl online when she was 12. They say he first met the girl at the Fox River Mall in Grand Chute in April. He came back in May. They say the victim reported five separate sexual assaults during those visits.
Marianne Radley of Reach Counseling in Neenah says predators can travel far to meet victims. She says it’s the type of situation you usually hear about on TV, but they can absolutely happen in northeast Wisconsin.
Radley says parents should be aware of their child’s online activity. Outagamie County prosecutors say Davis posed on Instagram as a 19-year-old man from Ohio.
They charged him with five felony counts of sexually assaulting a child and one count of child enticement.
Davis is a registered sex offender in New York state.
