The De Pere School Board revealed it’s new 88-page school safety plan.
The district received almost a quarter of a million dollars in grant money from the state last year. Pupil Services Director Jerry Nicholson says they’re looking into updating technology, putting in more security camera, and adding safety screens to windows. He says beyond that they’re also doing more for mental health.
Nicholson says the plan will also cover training for situations like active shooters and chemical accidents. He says it’s about connecting, supporting, and reducing risks for everyone in the community.
The district still needs to finalize the plan.
