Congress passed the 2018 Farm Bill on Tuesday, and Senator Tammy Baldwin says it will help the state.
Baldwin says it’ll life the pressure from tariffs and low food prices. She says farmers have a lot of challenges right now that are threatening business and community in the state.
Congressman Ron Kind was one of three House Democrats to vote against the bill. He says the bill gives too much funding to corporate interests. He says it fails to reign in subsidies and crop insurance programs that lead to overproduction.
Senator Ron Johnson also voted against the bill. He says it includes too much funding for food assistance programs.
President Trump still has to sign the bill.
