Governor Evers is apparently backing off his campaign threat to eliminate the Wisconsin Economic Development Authority.
He talked about the agency after meeting with Majority Republicans in the Assembly and Senate yesterday. He says the caucuses impress upon people how important the agency is. He says while it had a shaky start, it’s now successful. He says it’s also highly audited.
Evers was also critical of the state’s deal with Foxconn while he was campaigning. Now he says Foxconn is in Wisconsin and the state needs to make sure the company succeeds in a way that’s open and transparent.
