A group hopes to lower the water level of Lake Winnebago a little bit.
The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance is making the recommendation leading up to a meeting tomorrow night. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has the final say and the agency will hear from the community.
Korin Doering is the Winnebago Waterways program coordinator for the alliance. She says they’re looking for about a 1.2 inch reduction in water levels during the water months. She says hopefully that will reduce blue-green algae.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers meeting is at its Appleton office in the 2600 block of East Capitol Drive. It starts at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow night.
