The story: Take three delicious, malicious wives, add three miserable, unloving husbands – and chill. That’s the recipe of Michele Lowe’s tantalizing new comedy that had Broadway audiences cheering. The Smell of the Kill revolves around Nicky, Debra, and Molly who have tolerated one another during once-a-month dinners for years. While their unseen spouses play golf in the dining room, the women exchange confidences for the first time revealing that all three marriages are on the brink of disaster and all three women are facing the challenges of their lives. Nicky’s husband has been indicted for embezzlement, Molly’s husband is stalking her and Debra’s husband is leaving her for another woman. When the men mistakenly lock themselves in a basement meat locker the women are faced with a life-or-death decision – should they leave the men out in the cold – permanently – or let them thaw?

Open auditions for “The Northeast Wisconsin Passion Play,” will be held on Thursday, January 12th with appointments available between 6:00 and 9:00 pm and on Saturday, January 14th with appointments available between 9:00 am and noon.

The audition, open to adult and high school-aged singers, actors and dancers, will be held at the Xavier Fine Arts Center, 1600 W. Prospect Avenue, Appleton.

Those interested in auditioning can listen to samples of audition music, view other audition materials, find more information and register for an audition by visiting the production’s website: www.newpassionplay.org.

The Wizard Blizzard Fundraiser is set for Saturday, Feb. 4 at Darboy Supper Club, N9695 County N, Darboy. Doors open at 7pm. This event features live music, silent auction, raffles, food and a cash bar. Admission is $20 each or 2 for $35. In addition, a raffle for a 2012 Dodge Journey valued at $20,790, will be drawn that night. Car raffle tickets are $50 for one, $100 for three. Tickets for the car may be purchased now until the drawing the night of the event. Must be 18 or older to purchase a ticket for the car raffle. Need not be present to win. A beautiful Amish built Wisconsin barn provides the setting for Art From the Barn, an entirely unique art show and sale. The setting is a family farm located about 7 miles west of Oshkosh and 2 miles east of Waukau on County Rd K, near Omro. The show is a carefully selected blend of fine arts, fine crafts, photography, and other one-of-a-kind gift items produced by local artisans. Enjoy the fall colors, soak up the rural atmosphere, take a hay ride through the prairie, and feed the goats at Art from the Barn!
Art From the Barn 2012 will be held October sixth and seventh at 6320 County Rd K in Omro, Wisconsin. The show will run from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. Both days will be filled with music, food, demonstrations, and a dazzling array of beautiful and affordable works of art.
