Two organizations are partnering to help some families, now that the Appleton school district will have virtual learning at the start of the school year.
The Boys and the Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley and YMCA of the Fox Cities will have sites at nearly all of the elementary and middle schools where kids can go, if their parents have to go to work.
Boys and Girls Clubs CEO Greg Lemke-Rochon says they’ll have a full-day, five-day a week program at school sites, and the club’s Appleton location. He says they’ll be able to accommodate a limited number of students.
Lemke-Rochon says they’re still working with the school district to determine how many students will be allowed at each site.
He says the YMCA will also be using at least least one of its locations as another site.
