The frigid weather is going to have an impact on heating bills.
Wisconsin Public Service spokesman Matt Cullen believes natural gas use during the coldest periods will be about 20 percent higher than this time last year. He expects electricity use was up 15 percent today from the busiest day in 2018.
Cullen says they have extra staff to deal with any power outages. He says they assign more people to a call to keep them fresh and make the repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
Cullen has a tip for homeowners with ceiling fans. He says to make sure they’re turning the right way so they push warmer air to the floor.
