The bankruptcy of the company that owns the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh is not changing the city’s plans for that site.
City Manager Mark Rohloff still hopes to turn over the land underneath the arena to FoxValley Pro Basketball someday. He says the city still owns the land under the arena. He says the plan is to transfer the land over to the owners of the arena. He says that’s been the plan all along.
The city retained ownership of the land under the arena because of contamination issues lingering from the former Buckstaff plant on the site. Any foreclosure on the arena would not include the land owned by the city.
