"Bambi's Bombers"
As you get older (I turn 54 later this month) your every day life from time to time brings you reminders that you're getting older. I mean, in my head, I'm not really getting much older. Heck I feel about 30-something. I can hop on a bike and ride 40 miles averaging 15 mph any time I want. That's not too old is it?
But then you get little reminders about the length of the time you've already been blessed with on this Earth...little reminders like yesterday on the PhilCast when out of the blue I started remembering my college days and how I covered "Bambi's Bombers"...the Milwaukee Brewers of the late 70's....even had my own baseball show on the radio.
As I rattled off the names of the guys on the team I spent so much time with I was reminded of my age when Justin Hull, PhilCast sports, talked about not even being around then. Yikes. I guess I AM getting old...er, ah, older at the very least.
I could remember almost all the names of the players from that era, and if you can not, CLICK HERE for the roster.
1978...93 wins and no playoffs. Ouch.
