Report on tax burden mixed

A report shows state and local taxes are taking less of a bite out of our income.

Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance researcher Dale Knapp says the tax burden from state and local governments dropped 0.2 percent last year. He says that doesn't include the $650 million income tax cut that was included in the current budget.

The study found that the overall tax burden was up last year, because of a bigger increase in federal taxes. The overall burden was 29.7 percent of income last year.
