Marquette slips by Seton Hall

The Marquette Golden Eagles picked up their second Big East victory after topping the Seton Hall Pirates 67-66 at the Bradley Center on Saturday.  Marquette took control in the first half to lead 40-26 at the break, but would let the lead slip away in the second half as Seton Hall rallied to trail 65-63 with 28 seconds left after a three-pointer by Brian Oliver.  But with 21.3 seconds to play, Todd Mayo made two free throws to give Marquette a 4-point lead, which proved to be enough as Sterling Gibbs sunk a half-court heave at the buzzer to give the game it's final score.  Mayo led Marquette with 19 points off the bench, while senior Jamil Wilson had 16 points and 11 rebounds in the winning effort.  Oliver and Gibbs both led Seton Hall with 15 and 13 points respectively.

Marquette next will travel to face Butler on Saturday, with tip at 1pm while pregame starts at 12:30pm on 95.3-WSCO.
