Lawmaker drops child support bill for wealthy

A state committee will not take up a bill tomorrow that would have limited child support payments for people making over $150,000 a year.

Republican Rep. Joel Kleefisch of Oconomowoc says he decided to pull the bill because he's frustrated with the amount of misinformation about it.

Local attorney Dan Huber says there is already a high income child support scale, and he says the bill isn't necessary.

Huber disagrees with a lawmaker who claims the public isn't served by a system that allows children to receive large child support payments.

Kleefisch took some criticism for the proposal because a wealthy donor helped him write it.
