Gardens of the Fox Cities close after 18 years

A long-time tenant at Appleton's Memorial Park is closing its doors.

The Gardens of the Fox Cities shut down for good today, after 18 years. In an e-mail to members, garden officials said they couldn't raise enough money to keep going.

Hans Schultz's is the president of the garden's board of directors, he says today is a rough day, and the gardens meant a lot, to a lot of people.

Schultz says he's proud that they ran a free public garden, and helped people learn more about plants and the environment.
