Tavern league to fight deer changes

Opponents of a new deer registration system are vowing to fight on.

The policy does away with in-person stations, and replaces them with online and phone registration by 2015.

Wisconsin Tavern League lobbyist Scott Stenger says it's a big blow to the bar business. He says they're not going to give up. He notes that state lawmakers have to review the rule that the natural resources board passed earlier this week.

He's hoping they at least change it to a dual system, where in-person registration would still be allowed.
