Group starting suicide text line, aimed at teens

Outagamie and Calumet counties will be the first in the state to have a new suicide prevention program.

A text line will be available by the end of next month, or early March.

While anyone can use it, Barb Bigalke of the Center for Suicide Awareness says it's primarily aimed at helping young people through a crisis. She says it's called the HOPE LINE.

Bigalke says they're in the process of recruiting volunteers. She says they can work from home, and all they need is Internet access. She says initially the HOPE LINE will run from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and as they get more volunteers, they'll expand those hours.
