TCCES wants to be in on school vouchers

A private school system in the Fox Valley that didn't get involved with the school voucher program this year, will try to get into it for next school year.

Twin Cities Catholic Education System president Pat Batey says last year's enrollment process was rushed, and they wanted to see how the first year went. He says the vouchers seem like a good way to supplement the system's financial aid program.

The application process for becoming a voucher school begins tomorrow. The 25 schools that receive the most applications by an April deadline will be able to accept voucher students.

The state is doubling the amount of vouchers this year from 500 to 1,000.
