Jackson Saves the Day for Badgers
Even with their recent struggles at home the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team felt good about their chances of winning a huge game against ninth-ranked Michigan State at the Kohl Center on Saturday afternoon. The game didn't dissapoint as the biggest lead either way was a ten point Wisconsin advantage early in the second half. The Spartans, playing without injured guard Keith Appling, tied the game on an Adreian Payne triple with just over eight seconds remaining. However, Traevon Jackson countered by drilling a pull-up jumper with two seconds remaining. Travis Trice's game-winning half-court attempt rimmed out at the buzzer giving the Badgers a 60-58 victory. Nigel Hayes led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points. UW hosts Minnesota on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. with pre-game beginning at 7:00 on 1150 WHBY.
