Olympics raise interest in curling

The Appleton Curling Club is getting ready to welcome some new members, thanks to the Winter Olympics.

Club president Laura Welsh says they always see a spike in interest, in the year following the winter games. She says they're having an open house next Sunday, so people can learn about the sport.

She says they're also offering an easy option to start competing, through a beginners league.

Welsh says their club has about 175 members. It's on Westhill Boulevard in Grand Chute, near the intersection with W. College Avenue.
