Dems hope to change tax cut plan

Democrats are hoping to make changes to Governor Walker's tax cut package, when it's up for a vote in the Assembly tomorrow.

Rep. Gary Hebl of Sun Prairie says more of the projected budget surplus should go toward public education and health care programs. He says they support tax cuts, but they have to make sure their priorities are taken care of, first.

Republicans have a comfortable majority in the Assembly, and they're expected to pass the governor's $500 million plan tomorrow. Some GOP senators have raised concerns about the proposal, especially the projected increase in the state's structural deficit.
