Hintz: State unlikely to rescind KI money

An Oshkosh Democrat says he doesn't think lawmakers or the governor would take back state funding for the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, over the proposed downtown Walmart.

Republican Rep. John Klenke of Green Bay says it would be fiscally irresponsible, for the city council to shoot down the plans for a supercenter on the former Larsen Canning site. The state building commission approved the KI Convention Center funding, and Representative Gordon Hintz is one of the members. He says local lawmakers should decide what's in the best interest of Green Bay.

Klenke is circulating a petition, to take back the two-million dollars.
