Senate leader questions Assembly tax cut vote

The Republican leader of the Senate is questioning why the Assembly went ahead with a vote on Governor Walker's proposed $500-million tax cut.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he still plans to send the bill to the Joint Finance Committee, and he says members will likely make changes to the proposal.

Assembly GOP leaders argue their vote is spurring discussion in the Senate, but Fitzgerald says those talks have been going on for weeks.

Fitzgerald says several senators are concerned about the impact the cuts could have on the state's structural deficit.
