Oshkosh police want mobile command center

When Oshkosh police need to use a mobile command center at a crime scene, they have to borrow the Winnebago County sheriff's department's unit, but officials are hoping to change that.

The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation is raising money to buy one, and Oshkosh officer Joe Nichols says it would be a big asset. He says they hope to raise $300,000 in donations, over the next few months.

Nichols says the technology included in a mobile command center would make it easier to communicate at a crime scene or major event. He says the music festivals in Oshkosh are one example.
